Career exhibition and career Guidance for final year Degree
students of Milagres College Kallianpur was held by Mangalore
University Guidance and Employment Bureau jointly with Carrer
Guidance Cell of the College on 9\4\10 in the Silver Jubilee hall.
It was inaugurated by Prof. Ajit D Souza the dean of MSW Milagres
College. Principal Fr Fred Mascarenhas presided. Deputy chief of
University Employment Guiance Bureau Mr C Vishwanath explained the
role of guidance bureau. . Dr Gerald Pinto the convener of the
workshop welcomed the gathering. Prof. B K Sarojini of P A
Engineering College, Dr Manjayya, Chairman of Computer Science Dept
Mangalore University and Dr Sitarama Kevala , principal of Indus
College Puttur were the resource persons. Prof. Clara Menezes
proposed the vote of thanks. Sujatha compered the programme. Book
and literature exhibition was arranged in the library |

World Health Day Celebrated |

World Health Day Celebrated by Indian Red Cross Society Udupi
District branch along with N S S and Youth Red cross Milagres
College Kallianpur in the Silver Jubilee Hall on 7\4\10. It was
preasided over by Principal Fr Fred Mascarenhas. Vice chairman of
Red Cross Dr Sharath welcomed the gathering and explained the
importance of World Health Day. Dr Ashwini kumar of Manipal
University inaugurated the programme and explained the objectives of
World Health Day given by WHO. 1000 cities 1000 stories is this
years theme. He said that due to stress and working enviornment more
urbal people face health problelms like obesity, diabities etc. He
also explained how global warming causes health hazards.

Red Ribbon club to spread AIDS
awareness was inaugurated by Dr Ashok, district AIDS preventing
authority on 26\1\10 at Milagres College kallianpur. It is a joint
project of NSS milagres College and karnataka Aids preventation
society. He said that Udupi district stands first in AIDS patients
and 65% AIDS patients are between 25 to 30 years age. |

Research paper " natural Radio activity in the Karkala and udupi
Taluks of coastal Karnataka" was presented at national level
conference at Inter University Accerator Centre New Delhi by Dr
Gerald PInto, H O D Physics during the national conference 18th to
20 November 2009.
This conference was inaugurated by Dr A P J Abdul Kalam former
president and Bharat Ratna awardee, presided by Prof. Thorat the
chairman of UGC and Dr Anil Kakodkar the chairman Department of
Atomic Energy Govt of India was the guest of honour.

Lecturer was held on 16\10\09 in the Milagres College Kallianpur. Dr
Santhosh C , director, Centre for Molecular Physics Manipal
University inaugurated the programme. Principal Fr Fred Mascarenhas
presided. Secretary of Science Association Kum Rasmi welcomed and
president Ashok Shenoy proposed the vote of thanks. Convener prof.
Archana Dabade introduced the the theme and the guest.
There were competetions on Science seminar,
collage, poster writting, fiction writting and quiz on the topic
related to Astronomy and Astro physics. MGM College Udupi secured

The Departments of Sociology and Political Science organized a Guest
Lecture on 19th of September, 2009 for I and III Year B.A
Degree Students. Ms Shanthi, M.S.W Graduate and the cousellor at
Shri Akshayaniketana Trust, Tavaregere, Mandya who was the alumnus
of the Humanities Department and College delivered the Guest Lecture
on ‘Opportunities for B.A students and Social Work as a Career’. The
lecture was very insightful and the students appreciated it very
much. She motivated the students for higher education and career

ಅತಿಥಿಯಾಗಿ ಆಗಮಿಸಿದ ಶ್ರೀ ಪ್ರಮೋದ್ ಮಧ್ವರಾಜ್ ಇಂದಿನ ಆಧುನಿಕ ಯುಗದಲ್ಲಿ
ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ದರ್ಶನ ಎಂಬ ಧ್ಯೇಯದಡಿ ನಡೆಸಿದ ವಿವಿಧ ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಗಳಗಾಗಿ
ಮೆಚ್ಚುಗೆ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು. ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಯನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿ ಮಾನವರಾಗಿ ಬಾಳಲು

NCC , Youth Red Cross and Rotary Club MIlagres College Kallianpur
on 1\10\09 in the Silver Jubilee Hall of Milagres College. Principal
presided. Rotary club president Vijaya Mayadi Inaugurated. Dr Sudha
Bhat of KMC Manipal gave information of blood bank. 140 members
donated the blood and 257 identified their blood group. |

Gandi Jayathi and International non-violence day on 2\10\09 in the

Vijaya Mayadi the president of Rotary club Kallianpur inaugurated
the day and the seminar . Dr Neri Carnelio was the chief guest.

It is very sad to note that a professor renowned Prof. K.S. Kedlaya who
served for three decades (1971-2001) in the Department of Kannada of
our College attained his eternal abode on 28th August 2009. He was
loved dearly by his Colleagues and students. Milagres Family offers
deep sympathies to Mrs. Kedlaya and the children. May his soul
rest in peace. |

A collection of short stories
by Dr Gerald Pinto , "Fr Tony ani ither kaniyo" ( Fr Tony and other
stories) was released by Macha Milar, president of karnataka Konkani
writers forum on 12\7\09 in the bishops house during the Amcho
Sandesh representatives training work shop. It
contains 8 short stories and it is dedicated to the priests of
Mangalore diocese in the year of Priests.
Mr Eddie netto, Fr Vincent Monteiro, Mr Jochim Pinto
president of Catholic Sabha, Mrs Elsi D Souza the secretary, Mr
lancy DCunha the past president, Mr George Ligoury D Souza the
editor of Amcho Sandesh, Mr Vincy Fajir were present. |

jointly organised by Catholic Sabha and carer Guidance and
placement cell Milagres College Kallianpur. Principal of P U
College Prof. Sadashiva alse inaugurated. Principal of the
College Fr Fred Mascarenhas presided. He called upon the students
to have a aim in life and work hard. Walter Cyril Pinto the
president of Catholic Sabha gave information about the various
scholarships.
